Cannes Film Festival Original Posters
The Cannes Film Festival hasn't just produced six decades of fabulous films, but each year it has also created a unique and artistic representation of the world's most glamorous film festival. The Cannes Film Festival poster has become an iconic symbol of the history of this French Riviera city and its homage to cinema. Above is the 1939 Cannes Film Festival vintage French poster, which is from the year of the planned Cannes Film Festival debut. The festival was unfortunately canceled that year because of the start of World War II. It wasn't until 1946 that the Cannes Film Festival was finally able to have its debut. Shown below is the 1946 poster. This May, will mark the 63rd year of this world-famous event.
